FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1) When does my hunt begin and end?

Your hunting experience can begin as early as 1:00 p.m. on the first day and ends at noon on the final day.

2) Are alcoholic beverages provided?

El Cielo does not provide alcoholic beverages. You may bring your choice with you for relaxing after your hunt. No alcohol will be permitted before or during the hunt.

3) Is there any refund if I do not kill an animal?

No. We make every attempt for our hunters to have the best opportunity to shoot one of our trophy animals and our success rate is very high. The fee is for the “hunt package” and not a trophy fee.

4) Will you assist me with taxidermy?

We have a couple of excellent taxidermists we can recommend.

5) Do you have a range to sight in my rifle?

Before a big game hunt takes place, every hunter will be required to show that their rifle is zeroed at either 100 or 200 yards. We have a regulation rifle range as well as skeet and trap facilities. You can find photos here.

6) Is it acceptable to tip the guide and the ranch staff?

Most certainly! Our guides and staff work very hard to make sure our hunters have the most pleasurable and enjoyable experience possible. 

7) I am interested in a trophy whitetail or exotic hunt, or a trophy pronghorn hunt. Do you have anything for me?

We do! We offer trophy whitetail and exotic hunts at our ranch in Melvin, Texas. Visit the High Lonesome Ranch website for more details. We also offer trophy pronghorn at our Double M Ranch in West Texas.
